Choose intelligence you can govern. By now you’ve seen what AI can add to change management and how it actually works in day-to-day flows. The last step is the decision: will this make your organization faster, safer, and more auditable—and will it do so in a way you can own? What to actually test before you sign

Decision pages often drown in features; pilots should focus on outcomes. Run a four-week, two-phase test:

  • Phase 1 (Advisory). Enable AI intake and risk rationales for one service; enable a non-blocking deploy gate. Track baseline: authorization time by risk band, emergency percentage, incident correlation, and audit “rework” hours.

  • Phase 2 (Enforced). Flip the gate to blocking; reserve CAB for high-risk only; add a minimal standard change catalog. Track the same metrics and compare.

Ask yourself three blunt questions at the end:

  1. Did medium-risk approvals get materially faster without increasing incidents?
